45 वर्षीय पराग अग्रवाल साल 2011 में ट्विटर से जुड़े थे और 2017 में मुख्य प्रौद्योगिकी अधिकारी बनाया गया था,तब कर्मियों की संख्या 1000 से भी कम थी.पराग ने आईआईटी बॉम्बे और अमेरिका की स्टैनफोर्ड यूनिवर्सिटी से पढ़ाई की है। डोर्सी ने एक बयान में कहा कि मुझे पराग में भरोसा है और मैं मानता हूं कि कंपनी के लिए अपने संस्थापकों से आगे बढ़ने का समय आ गया है।

अग्रवाल ने ट्विटर पर लिखा कि वह अपनी नियुक्ति को लेकर काफी सम्मानित महसूस कर रहे हैं और खुश हैं. उन्होंने डोर्सी के ‘‘निरंतर मार्गदर्शन एवं दोस्ती’’ के लिए उनका आभार व्यक्त किया.

अग्रवाल ने इसे लेकर कहा कि मुझमें और मेरे नेतृत्व में भरोसा जताने के लिए बोर्ड को धन्यवाद कहना चाहता हूं। जैक की लगातार मेंटरशिप, सहयोग और भागीदारी के लिए मैं उनका आभारी हूं। जैक डोर्सी के नेतृत्व में कंपनी ने जो उपलब्धियां हासिल की हैं मैं उनको आगे बढ़ाने के लिए तैयार हूं।

दिग्गज टेक कंपनियों के साथ कर चुके हैं काम

ट्विटर के साथ जुड़ने से पहले पराग अग्रवाल याहू, माइक्रोसॉफ्ट और एटीएंडटी जैसी दिग्गज अमेरिकी कंपनियों के साथ काम कर चुके हैं। पराग अग्रवाल की नियुक्ति के अलावा ट्विटर ने 2016 से कंपनी के बोर्ड सदस्य ब्रेट टेलर को तत्काल प्रभाव से बोर्ड का स्वतंत्र अध्यक्ष बनाने की घोषणा भी की है।

Parag Agarwal, 45, joined Twitter in 2011 and was made chief technology officer in 2017, when the workforce was less than 1000. Parag studied at IIT Bombay and Stanford University in the US. Dorsey said in a statement that I believe in Parag and believe the time has come for the company to move on from its founders.

Agarwal wrote on Twitter that he is extremely honored and happy about his appointment. He expressed his gratitude for Dorsey's "constant guidance and friendship."

Apart from the appointment of Parag Agarwal, Twitter has also announced the appointment of Brett Taylor, a board member of the company since 2016, as an independent chairman of the board with immediate effect.
