If farmers do not get electricity for Rabi crops in Gujarat, then there will be agitation: Arjun Modhwadia

Farmers are now demanding electricity from the government for the Rabi crop to be planted in winter in Gujarat. So that they can save their crop through irrigation. But due to frequent power cuts, its direct effect has started showing on the farmers' fields. Due to this, former Gujarat Congress President and senior leader Arjun Modhwadia have demanded that farmers should be provided electricity according to their needs. He cautioned the government that if farmers do not get electricity, they can also agitate in the future.

Arjun Modhwadia said that farmers have planted crops in the fields. And in such a situation, they do not get water facilities because all their hard work will be wasted. Modhwadia alleged that the state government was harassing farmers through power cuts. The government, which had shown the dream of providing electricity to farmers during the day for Rabi crops, is no longer providing electricity to farmers even at night.

Arjun Modhwadia has also tweeted a video of farmers. He tweeted that, 'Farmer friends of Patan district have sent this video. I am deeply saddened by the extent to which the government is troubling the farmers. I urge the government to provide adequate electricity to the farmers, otherwise, they will be forced to agitate in the future.

He said that due to lack of electricity, farmers are not able to irrigate. And due to lack of water, there will be a heavy loss to the Rabi crop. Already in monsoon, due to the lack of rain in many districts like Banaskantha, the crop has been completely ruined. Another government where the farmers did not get any compensation even under the Chief Minister Kisan Sahayata Yojana after the crop was destroyed in the monsoon. So, if the problem of electricity remains the same, then the condition of the farmers will get worse.
