Neesham has also made veteran Indian cricketer Sunil Gavaskar a fan of his innings. Gavaskar has greatly appreciated Neesham's match-winning innings. Along with this, Gavaskar has also praised the leadership of Kiwi captain Kane Williamson.
Gavaskar told India Today, 'What an innings, he was scoring at a strike rate of over 240. He was hitting the ball well. He also got the support of luck, when the ball went over the boundary from the hands of Jonny Bairstow and it became a six. But clearly, Neesham has a lot of potentials.
Gavaskar said, 'Jimmy Neesham is a big hitter and he can also bowl usefully. Kane Williamson showed faith in him by giving him the 20th over of England's innings, so yes, it is good to see Jimmy Neesham doing justice to his talent.
Gavaskar said that he would also like to see such an innings from opener Martin Guptill, who was dismissed for four runs in three balls on Wednesday.
