Crime Branch Mumbai arrests Raj Kundra for making obscene films

Raj Kundra, who has been in jail since July 19 in a pornography case, got a big relief on Monday. The sessions court in Mumbai has granted him bail on a surety of Rs 50,000. While granting bail, the court said that Raj cannot leave the city without informing the local police station.

After his arrest, he was first put on police remand till 27 July, while the fort court (Esplanade Court) later sent him to 14 days of judicial custody. Since then he has been in jail continuously. A sessions court has rejected Kundra's bail application. From Sherlyn Chopra to Poonam Pandey, many serious allegations were made against Raj Kundra. This case was registered with the Mumbai Cyber Police in the year 2020.

Along with Raj Kundra, his IT head Ryan Tharp's bail plea has also been approved. The court had also sought a response from the Mumbai Police on the bail plea. A 1500-page supplementary charge sheet has been filed against 11 accused including Kundra in this case. The statements of 43 witnesses including actress Shilpa Shetty, Sherlyn Chopra have been included in the charge sheet. After this charge sheet, the way for Kundra's bail was seen opening.

Have already rejected the bail plea
Castle Court before July 28 had rejected the bail plea of Raj Kundra. The court was satisfied with the contention of the prosecution side that after his release, Raj Kundra could influence the investigation and witnesses in the case. The police had said in the court that Raj Kundra is powerful. He is the main accused in the case. In such a situation, if he is released, he can influence both the witnesses and the investigation. He can destroy the evidence. The police also told the court that they have solid evidence against Raj Kundra and the crime branch has seized 68 adult videos from Raj Kundra's office.

Kundra's application is also pending in the Bombay High
Court. In August, he had moved the Bombay High Court for his anticipatory bail after Raj Kundra's bail plea was rejected in the sessions court. Raj Kundra, while giving his explanation in this case, had said that another accused trapped with him, in this case, was granted bail, so a similar decision should be followed in his case as well. Raj Kundra's lawyer Subhash Jadhav said that all the allegations against Raj Kundra are baseless. The content created by Raj Kundra does not come under the purview of pornography, rather he is an erotic content.
