NEET UG 2021: NTA ready to investigate Physics question, Supreme Court gave this important decision

NEET UG 2021: Some students had filed a petition in the Supreme Court regarding the correctness of a question in the Physics paper. In this regard, the Supreme Court has given an important order today.

According to this, a committee of three experts will evaluate the correctness of a question in the physics exam. The Center has been ordered to constitute these committees. The Center will file an affidavit of the committee's opinion and appropriate resolution. In this case, a bench headed by Justice DY Chandrachud said that we do not want to fail in physics because we do not know anything about the subject. It would be better if it is examined by such experts who know both Hindi and English language definitions of science.

During the hearing, Solicitor General Tushar Mehta said that in addition to the already constituted committee, another committee would be formed. Actually, a petition has been filed in the Supreme court on a question of Physics asked in NEET 2021. The students, who took the petitioner's examination, have appealed in the apex court that the court directs the National Testing Agency (NTA) to delete a physics question asked in NEET 2021 and re-issue the result.

The petitioners say that the Hindi translation of the question asked in question number 2 in the Physics section was wrong. There was no mention of 'amplitude of current' in the Hindi translation of the question, which was part of the question asked in English. Therefore, the candidates who answered after reading the Hindi question, their answers were wrong because the translation of the question itself was wrong.

It has been said in the petition that due to this mistake of NTA, Hindi-speaking students are facing the loss of marks and rank. By the way, the rules of NTA states that in case of any ambiguity or doubt in the translation of a question in the NEET exam, the English version of that question will be considered as final. The decision of NTA in this regard will be final.

Demand has been made to delete a question from the Physics section in Hindi translation from the question paper of NEET-UG 2021. The Supreme Court has asked the Central Government to re-examine the error in translation of the NEET-UG question. NTA also agreed to re-examine the alleged error in the Hindi translation of the NEET-UG question.

The next hearing of the case in the Supreme Court will be on November 30.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta on behalf of NTA said that the question will be re-evaluated by a panel of three experts, experts will file an affidavit regarding the result obtained by the panel. The counsel for the petitioner said that 15 lakh students appeared in the NEET examination, out of which only 2 lakh students were from Hindi, negative marking is the same for both.

Solicitor General Tushar Mehta told the court that the first physical question was evaluated by a three-member panel of experts. The panel says that the answer to the question was the same.
