Pune: The state has won the National Entrepreneur Award given by the Central Government. A total of 11 entrepreneurs from across the state have bagged the award in various categories, including five from Mumbai, four from Pune and one each from Vasai-Virar, Nashik. The National Entrepreneur Awards are given by the Union Ministry of Trade and Industry to honor young researchers and entrepreneurs in the country.

Pune: The state has won the National Entrepreneur Award given by the Central Government. A total of 11 entrepreneurs from across the state have bagged the award in various categories, including five from Mumbai, four from Pune and one each from Vasai-Virar, Nashik. The National Entrepreneur Awards are given by the Union Ministry of Trade and Industry to honor young researchers and entrepreneurs in the country.

This year out of 2 thousand 177 applications received from all over the country, 46 new entrepreneurs were awarded. Entrepreneurs were honored for their outstanding work in various fields such as agriculture, education and skills development, environment, finance technology, healthcare, energy, transportation and travel.


Among the four new entrepreneurs from Pune, Dr. Developed by Aniruddha Joshi's Atreya Innovation, Nadi-Tarangini is a device that uses electronic and artificial intelligence to diagnose diseases of the body as well as to maintain good health based on observations of pulse tests. Upcover Business Services' app 'Udchalo' provides travel tickets to Indian Army personnel, senior citizens and their families. Video Surveillance based on artificial intelligence is facilitated by Raven, a platform from PivotChain Solutions Technology. Repos Energy operates in the field of home fuel services.

Vestatago Innovations, a Nashik-based entrepreneur, has created a system that helps farmers to reduce the cost of their operations. Bionic Hope, a new entrepreneur from Vasai Virar, has created a robotic artificial arm called Gripie that can sense touch. Square Panda in Mumbai is working for the training of Anganwadi teachers through innovative technology. Unnati Educare is working to emphasize learning through interactive and action-based games for children over the age of six. Sagar Defense has developed an unmanned navigation system for marine and air vehicles. While Lama Logistics has developed a system that simplifies import-export practices, Squaretech IT Solutions has developed a state-of-the-art system for cyber security.

The New Entrepreneur, Unicorn and the awards received underscore the great contribution of Maharashtra to the country's entrepreneurial sector. Entrepreneurs are working in other parts of the state including Mumbai-Pune. Such an example is not seen anywhere else in the country. However, if a conducive environment is created for new entrepreneurs in Nashik, Nagpur, Kolhapur and Aurangabad in the near future, the state will definitely benefit from it. With the construction of an international airport, the entrepreneurial atmosphere in Pune will be on par with that of Bangalore and Delhi.
