The European Union (EU) has decided that it will standardize USB-C type cables for smartphones and implement a universal charger rule. This will directly benefit those people who keep mobiles of different companies. And to charge the mobile, as many mobile chargers have to be kept.
After this decision of the EU, now you will get rid of the hassle of having different types of chargers for different brands of phones. In the coming few months, all the phones in EU countries are likely to be charged with a single charger. However, it will not be that easy. It may take a few years to get such a facility in India.
The EU says that having a single charger will reduce electronic waste, but Apple is not happy with this decision. This is creating a situation of conflict between the European Union and Apple. Apple believes that if this is done, it will stop innovation and increase pollution.

1. USB Type-A
Its shape is rectangular. It is used in the starting end of a USB mouse, pen drive, charging cable. Also, USB Type-A is also used in the connector which is seen in the hard drive.
2. USB Type-B
This connector has a square shape that is used in printers, modems, scanners, and some specific accessories.
3. USB Type-C In the
coming times, you will see this connector in almost all devices, with the help of which you will be able to transfer data along with your mobile charging and also use many external peripherals. This connector is very small in size and reversible, which means you can use it both ways whether you want to use it upside down or upright.
4. Lightning Cable
It is used only by Apple. Apple has been using Lightning cables in its mobile devices since 2012. Like USB-C, charging is reversible in this too.
5. Micro USB
It was designed in 2007. There are 2 types of Micro USB, Micro-A and Micro-B. This cable is often used more in computers like video games and phone charging.
This connector is used in mobile and camera. It used to be small in size, but after the introduction of micro USB, it stopped being used in smartphones. But it is still being used in some feature phones and cameras.
