Big blow to England! Ben Stokes decided not to play Ashes, know the reason

England's star all-rounder Ben Stokes looks set to be out of the Ashes series. Actually, his broken finger has had a second operation.
Stokes, who took an indefinite break from cricket after being ruled out of the home series against India, had injured his left index finger while playing IPL for Rajasthan Royals four months ago.

According to the tabloid 'Daily Mirror', 'Leeds doctor Doug Campbell, who performed the first operation on Stokes' finger in April, has also performed the second operation.'

The report said that Stokes' finger will now recover faster and he will also get relief from pain. He is unlikely to return to the field in the near future. The Ashes series will be played in December-January.

Stokes also posted a photo on Instagram on Wednesday with his wife Claire, in which his index finger is bandaged.

England agree to tour Australia

The England team has agreed to tour Australia for the Ashes series, putting an end to the speculation about their participation there amid stringent Corona protocols.

The 'Daily Telegraph' has said that talks between representatives of players from both teams,  the England and Wales Cricket Board and Cricket Australia, and the Australian government were positive.

During the conversation, the players of England expressed concern about the stringent Corona protocol in Australia. The newspaper said that several England players, led by Root, have been confirmed to play in the series.

The report further said that Jos Buttler will be the only player who will not go to Australia. He had expressed concern about being away from the family for a long time.
