IND vs SA: On this day three years ago, Australia's fort was demolished, now misses to create history in Africa

The Indian team may have missed out on creating history by winning the Johannesburg Test against South Africa, but on this day (7 January) 2019, Team India went to Australia and demolished its fort. Actually, then the Indian team won a Test series in Australia for the first time in Test history.

The rain had disturbed the tour of Australia as well.

On the 2018-19 tour, the Indian team won the 4-Test series in Australia by 2-1. The last i.e. fourth Test of the series was played in Sydney from 3 January 2019. The Indian team had performed brilliantly in the match and forced the host Australia to follow on.

In that match too, the rain had become the biggest villain. Actually, on the 5th day of the Sydney Test, the Australian team came to play follow-on. Till then the match was completely visible in the hands of the Indian team, but then it started raining so dangerous that it did not stop for the whole day. Due to this, the match was drawn due to rain and the Indian team had to be content with a 2-1 victory. If there was no rain in the match, then the Indian team had every chance to win the match and take the series 3-1.

In Johannesburg Test also rain became the villain

Something similar happened on this Africa tour as well. Here the Indian team won the first match in the three-Test series and took a 1-0 lead. In the second test, the Indian team had set an impossible target of 240 runs. Before this match, South Africa had never chased such a big target on this ground. Rather, this team could not even win any Test from India on this ground, but here too the rain became the villain.

On the fourth day of the match, South Africa needed 122 runs to win, while the Indian team needed 8 wickets to win. When it started raining from here, both the initial sessions were washed away. Finally,

the rain stopped and the third session was played. It was scheduled to be a game of 34 overs. In this rain-interrupted match, the Indian team could take only one more wicket. At the same time, South Africa won the match by 7 wickets to level the series 1-1.

India would like to win the first test series in South Africa

Now the third and deciding Test match of the series between the two teams will now be played in Cape Town from January 11. By winning this match, the Indian team would like to create history by winning the Test series for the first time in South Africa. Earlier, the Indian team played 7 Test series in South Africa, out of which 6 were defeated, while one was a draw. This is the eighth series between the two teams on South African soil.
