Coal stock for 2 days in Jhajjar and Dadri.

Delhi's Energy Minister Jain claimed that the government takes 3.5 thousand MW power from NTPC, which is getting half these days. Due to the low power supply, costly electricity has to be purchased.

A new claim has been added to the claims of the Delhi government regarding the shortage of coal. According to the Arvind Kejriwal
government, the Delhi government has been forced to buy 4 times more expensive electricity for power supply. Satyendra Jain told that there is not a single plant in Delhi to generate electricity from coal. Whereas Delhi is dependent on other states supplying electricity.
Satyendar Jain said that at the same time, Delhi has made power purchase agreements for power supply across the country, which are mostly with National Thermal Power Corporation (NTPC). NTPC is able to provide only half of the electricity that has been agreed with NTPC. Whereas it has never happened that the plants have halved the production of electricity.
He said that the power generation capacity has been halved in all the power plants across the country. It is clear that the power shortage has been created intentionally.
The Energy Minister in the Kejriwal government claimed that the Delhi government takes 3.5 thousand MW power from NTPC, which is getting half these days. Due to the low power supply, expensive electricity has to be purchased because the gas available from the central quota has stopped. Therefore, electricity has to be made by buying gas from the market. Electricity generation from gas is made at 17 rupees 25 paise per unit. While Rs 20 per unit is getting electricity from the exchange. Whereas according to the agreement made with NTPC, electricity will be available at Rs 6 per unit.

Satyendra Jain further told that there are 3 power plants in Delhi that generate electricity from gas. Their capacity is 1700 MW but at present only 1300 MW is being produced. But its cost is Rs 17 25 paise per unit and electricity cannot be used at this price because Rs 17 is the cost of 25 paise per unit of electricity, in that the transmission charge is Rs 2 and then the transmission loss is 10%. Taking everything together, the cost of electricity is being made at Rs 24 per unit, which is very
expensive.
Describing the latest stock of coal, Satyendar Jain told 'Aaj Tak' that there are 2 days of coal stock in Jhajjar, Dadri Power Plant.
Apart from this, on the question of the Central Government refusing to supply according to the demand of electricity and shortage of coal, Energy Minister Satyendar Jain said that in fact, NTPC gives information about the power supply in writing. If NTPC has a 500 MW plant, then they talk about giving 250 MW. In such a situation, the Delhi government cannot demand more than 250 MW of electricity. NTPC has clearly said in writing that only 50% of the electricity will be supplied. Demanding from the central government, Energy Minister Satyendar Jain in the Kejriwal government said that the power plants of NTPC supplying electricity to Delhi should produce electricity with full capacity and coal stocks should be arranged.
On the question of power cut in Delhi, Satyendar Jain told Aaj Tak that for the next 2 days there will be no power cut situation. But if production and coal stock is not increased, then there may be a problem.
