Will Sonia Gandhi accept Navjot Singh Sidhu's resignation?

New Delhi/Chandigarh: Sonia Gandhi may accept Navjot Singh Sidhu's resignation. After this, the new president of the Punjab Congress can be announced. According to sources, 'Kuljit Nagra and Ravneet Singh Bittu are leading in the race for the state president. Sonia Gandhi can make either of them the President of the Punjab Congress. Both the leaders have reached Delhi. Punjab CM Charanjit Singh Channi himself has taken both of them from the charter plane to Delhi.

It is worth mentioning that Punjab Chief Minister Charanjit Singh Channi had earlier had a plan to come to Delhi by his helicopter, but then this plan was changed and on the instructions of the party high command, he was accompanied by the Working President of Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee Kuljit Nagra and the new Punjab Congress President. The Congress MP from Ludhiana, Ravneet Singh, who was in the race for the post, brought Bittu to Delhi by a special charter plane.

According to sources, Charanjit Singh Channi's helicopter had also taken off but it was hurriedly landed at Chandigarh International Airport and from there the three leaders left for Delhi by special charter plane. In such a situation, sources say that Sonia Gandhi can accept the resignation of Navjot Singh Sidhu today and can make any one of Kuljit Nagra and Ravneet Singh Bittu as Punjab Congress President.

It is also worth noting here that Punjab Congress in-charge Harish Rawat has met Rahul Gandhi today. However, he did not interact with the media after the meeting. He left without talking to reporters. He has given any information about the meeting. Being the in-charge of Punjab Congress, his opinion also matters in the decisions of the party related to the state.
