UGC NET 2021: 12.67 lakh students are appearing for the exam this year

UGC NET 2021: The UGC National Eligibility Test (NET) exam for December 2020 and June 2021 began on 20 November. As per the data released by the National Testing Agency, NTA, the UGC NET exam will be conducted by the candidates. This year the exam is being conducted in computer-based test mode in 213 cities across 469 centers across India.

On the first day of UGC NET 2021, a total of 52,335 candidates appeared in 36 different subjects out of which 13,975 appeared in the first shift for 19 subjects and 38360 appeared in the second shift for the remaining 17. Over 8,000 CCTV cameras installed at all centers:

To ensure fair and smooth conduct of the first day's examination, 1,783 jammers and 8,142 CCTV cameras were deployed at all the centers, which helped the National and Regional Coordinators appointed by the NTA to virtually supervise the entire administration of the examination.

The UGC NET 2021 exam will end on December 5, 2021. UGC NET exam is being conducted for 81 test papers for eligibility for Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) and Assistant Professorship.

 Reporting times and other guidelines

Candidates will have to report to the examination center two hours before the commencement of the examination so that the verification and registration formalities can be completed ahead of time. The registration desk will be closed 30 minutes before the exam.

Candidates should be able to carry the equipment, geometry or pencil box, handbag, purse, any type of paper/stationery/textual material (printed or written material), edible (loose or packed), mobile phone/earphone/microphone/pager, calculator Carrying is not allowed.

Document pens, slide rules, log tables, cameras, tape recorders, electronic watches with a calculator in the facility, any metal objects or electronic gadgets/equipment are prohibited in the examination hall/room. Smoking, chewing gutkha, spitting, etc. is strictly prohibited in the examination hall/ hall.
