"A place where women don't find themselves safe, that place can't be a civilized society, that democracy is disgraced," Dhankhar stated, highlighting the gravity of the situation. He emphasized that the fear prevalent in the minds of girls and women today is a matter of national concern. "How can in the land of India, girls and women be unsafe?...how can there be rape and murder in a hospital when the woman doctor is in service of humanity, saving the lives of others? This is painful," he added.

Dhankhar also referred to the distress expressed by the President of India, Draupadi Murmu, who hails from a tribal background. He recalled her poignant words, "She was constrained to express herself...she said, enough is enough," reflecting the urgency of addressing these issues.

The Vice President's remarks come at a time when the country is grappling with increasing incidents of violence against women, raising serious questions about the state of law and order and the effectiveness of measures to ensure the safety and dignity of women across India.

Dhankhar's address not only highlighted the role of women in shaping a developed India but also served as a powerful reminder of the need for immediate and comprehensive action to protect women's rights and ensure their safety.
