According to reports, certain VIP inmates are being served luxurious meals at exorbitant prices, while the general prison population receives standard fare. This controversy came to light following a formal complaint lodged by Surendra Gadling, a prisoner facing charges in the 2018 Bhima Koregaon violence case, with the Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) in Thane.
