Bank Strike Dec 2021: Bank strike continues for the second consecutive day on Friday in protest against the proposed privatization of banks. More than nine lakh employees of all public sector banks (PSBs) across the country are taking part in this strike. Due to this, banking services are being affected and common people are facing problems. About 19 thousand crore banking operations are estimated to be affected due to the first day's strike.

These services of public sector banks are being affected

All India Bank Employees Association (AIBEA) general secretary CH Venkatachalam claimed that clearance of 20.4 lakh checks got stuck due to the first day's strike. Due to this, banking operations worth Rs 18,600 crore were affected. Due to this strike of government bank employees, work like deposit, withdrawal, check clearance, loan approval were affected on Thursday.

Normal business continues in private banks

Nine unions of bank employees have called for this strike together. Employees of all public sector banks are participating in this. Customers of banks like SBI, PNB are facing problems in banking operations. On the other hand, normal functioning is being done in all private banks including HDFC Bank, ICICI Bank.

No effect on these services

Customers who have completed the work of online banking through online means do not have to worry. All banks' digital banking services (Digital Banking), Internet Banking, UPI Based Services (UPI), Mobile Banking etc. are working normally. Banks had already started making arrangements in view of the strike so that customers do not face any problem in withdrawing money from ATMs during the week. Cases of running out of cash in ATMs have not come to the fore so far.
