नीति आयोग ने आपसी व्यापार और निवेश पर चर्चा करने के लिये ससकैचवन शिष्टमंडल से मुलाकात की |

नीति आयोग ने कनाडा सरकार के व्यापार और निर्यात विकास मंत्रालय, ससकैचवन के साथ आज एक उच्चस्तरीय बैठक का आयोजन किया।

बैठक की अगुवाई नीति आयोग के सदस्य डॉ. वीके सारस्वत और ससकैचवन मंत्री जेरेमी हैरिसन ने की।

दोनों पक्षों ने आपसी व्यापार और निवेश बढ़ाने के उपायों पर चर्चा की।

ससकैचवन शिष्टमंडल को सम्बोधित करते हुये डॉ. सारस्वत ने दोनों देशों के बीच बढ़ते व्यापार, वाणिज्य और आर्थिक साझेदारियों पर जोर दिया। उन्होंने कहा कि दलहन, स्वच्छ ऊर्जा, जैव-ईंधन, उर्वरक, विज्ञान और प्रौद्योगिकी के क्षेत्रों में ससकैचवन, भारत का महत्त्वूर्ण कारोबारी साझेदार है। उन्होंने यह उल्लेख भी किया कि ससकैचवन प्रांत उच्च शैक्षिक संस्थानों का केंद्र होने के कारण भारतीय छात्रों में बहुत लोकप्रिय है।

मंत्री जेरेमी हैरिसन ने इस आवश्यकता पर जोर दिया कि दोनों देशों को पारस्परिक लाभ सम्बंधी सक्षम क्षेत्रों में सहयोग करना चाहिये। उन्होंने उल्लेख किया कि महत्त्वपूर्ण खनिजों और कार्बन को रोकने के उपायों, खनिजों के उपयोग और भंडारण जैसे क्षेत्रों में सहयोग की संभावनायें तलाशनी चाहिये। उन्होंने कहा कि महत्त्वपूर्ण खनिजों, खाद्य सुरक्षा, जल प्रबंधन और खाद्यान्न के रख-रखाव/भंडारण के बारे में भारत के विचारों को समझने की जरूरत है।

खनन, ऊर्जा और कृषि के क्षेत्रों में भारत और ससकैचवन, दोनों की क्षमता को मद्देनजर रखते हुये डॉ. सारस्वत ने कहा कि नीति आयोग आगे बढ़कर साझीदार देशों के साथ संवाद स्थापित करेगा, ताकि अनुसंधान एवं विकास, निर्माण और नवोन्मेष में सहयोग स्थापित किया जा सके।

NITI Aayog met with a Saskatchewan delegation to discuss mutual trade and investment.

NITI Aayog held a high level meeting today with the Ministry of Trade and Export Development, Government of Canada, Saskatchewan.

The meeting was led by NITI Aayog member Dr. VK Saraswat and Saskatchewan Minister Jeremy Harrison.

Both sides discussed ways to increase mutual trade and investment.

Addressing the Saskatchewan delegation, Dr. Saraswat emphasized the growing trade, commerce and economic partnership between the two countries. He said Saskatchewan is India's important business partner in the fields of pulses, clean energy, bio-fuels, fertilizers, science and technology. He also mentioned that the province of Saskatchewan is very popular with Indian students for being a center of higher educational institutions.

Minister Jeremy Harrison emphasized the need for the two countries to cooperate in areas of mutual benefit. He mentioned that possibilities of cooperation should be explored in areas such as important minerals and carbon containment measures, utilization and storage of minerals. He said that there is a need to understand India's views on important minerals, food security, water management and handling/storage of food grains.

Noting the potential of both India and Saskatchewan in the fields of mining, energy and agriculture, Dr. Saraswat said that NITI Aayog will go ahead and establish dialogue with partner countries to establish cooperation in research and development, manufacturing and innovation. Can you
