The Center has challenged the order of the Delhi High Court granting permission to implement the 'Chief Minister Ghar Ghar Ration Scheme'. The Center has said that the HC has allowed the implementation of the scheme without hearing the Center on the detrimental effect of the scheme of the Delhi government. This scheme runs contrary to the provisions of the National Food Security Act on the distribution of rations to the needy.

The Supreme Court will hear the Centre's petition against the AAP the government's 'Chief Minister's house-to-house ration scheme' on November 15. The Center has challenged the decision of the Delhi High Court, saying that it is an attempt to run a parallel PDS in violation of the National Food Security Act, which is having a detrimental effect on the beneficiaries.

Impact on One Nation One Ration Card The

Center said in its petition, its most adverse impact would be on the implementation of the "One Nation One Ration Card" scheme, which was started by the Central Government to benefit migrant workers. Under this scheme, people can get biometric ration from ration shops anywhere in India. 

Not only this, the Center has accused the AAP government of installing ePOS machines at ration shops and failing to implement the 'One Nation One Ration Card' scheme. The Center says that the Delhi government is now trying to start a new scheme in violation of the NFSA to hide its failures in these matters.

Delhi High Court had approved the Delhi government to deliver rations to the people at home. The High Court had said that there should be no shortage of ration in fair price shops. The High Court had directed the Delhi government to inform all fair price shops about cardholders who have opted to get ration at home.
