Many aspects required for the appointment of a judge in SC

Traditionally, while recommending the appointment of judges to the Supreme Court, the collegium territorial balance, as well as the aspect of representation to minorities, tribals, and women, is also taken into account. According to the valid memorandum for the appointment of judges, the selection of judges should be in such a way that most of the states or all the regions are represented in the Supreme Court. The voice-over regional imbalances were raised even as the collegium accelerated the pace of direct appointment of senior advocates practicing in the Delhi-based Supreme Court and High Court as Supreme Court judges. In the last six years, four lawyers were directly made my lord in the Supreme Court. In such a situation, these judges are not considered from any state.
