Significantly, on April 15 this year, the government had banned the distribution of food on all flights which are of two hours or less duration.

On Tuesday, the ministry has allowed all airlines to do this without any restriction on all flights. The government has taken this decision in view of the steep decline in corona cases in the country and the vaccination of a large number of people.

According to the Ministry of Civil Aviation, now airlines can provide reading material like newspapers to passengers in addition to food and drink.

The ministry said in its order, 'Airlines operating flights on the domestic route can now provide catering services in the plane without any restriction of flight duration.' According to the order, airlines can now distribute reading material like newspapers, magazines also inside the plane.

Significantly, during the deadly spread of Corona, all such facilities were banned, due to which there is any possibility of spreading the infection.

According to a report, the Union Health Ministry had advised civil aviation that now food service can be provided even in flights of less than two hours duration.
