Navi Mumbai – Belapur BJP MLA Mandatai Mhatre held a press conference to discuss significant development projects in her constituency. Mhatre emphasized her commitment to the comprehensive development of Navi Mumbai, highlighting the progress of key infrastructure projects and their expected impact on the city.

  • Belapur to Sion-Panvel Highway R.O.B.: Mhatre discussed the long-pending construction proposal for a road over bridge (R.O.B.) from Belapur to the Sion-Panvel Highway. This project, which had been stalled for two years, is now back on track. The R.O.B. will connect Palm Beach Road to the Sion-Panvel Highway, alleviating traffic congestion in the Belapur area, particularly around the CBD.

  • Project Details: The estimated cost of the R.O.B. project is ₹155 crore. It will not only ease traffic on the Palm Beach Road but also link with the proposed coastal road by CIDCO, enhancing connectivity and reducing travel time.

  • Government Support: Chief Minister Eknath Shinde, during a meeting on August 1, instructed the Navi Mumbai Municipal Corporation (NMMC) Commissioner to expedite the project. Following these instructions, immediate steps were taken to issue tenders for the R.O.B. construction.

  • Collaboration: Mhatre, along with city engineer and other officials, discussed the project’s implementation details, emphasizing the positive impact it will have on Navi Mumbai residents. She also secured ₹15 crore under the Annabhau Sathe Dalit Vasti Yojana for the 2023-2024 fiscal year.
