Alka Bhatnagar was born in Meerut in a family with a long tradition in Music. She learnt music during her childhood from her father, Shri B.N. Srivastava a great exponent of classical and light music in his day. Alka is rightly recognized as a singer of eminence in India and Abroad.

She is one of those few artistes who have succeeded in mingling the finest nuances of classical music with an element of modernity by her imaginative improvisations. Her control over her voice, her mastery over modulation, superb intonation and "stress" are some of the salient features of her singing. She has evolved her own style which is a curious mix of the finest of baritone and the lowest of contralto.

Alka has many Albums in India & Abroad. The popular one’s are “Krishna Leela and “Ram Charan Sukhdai” sung with Bhajan Samrat “ Anup Jalota”. Her previous albums are “Hari Naam Sukh Dham” by Universal. “Jihva Sai Bole” by Rachna Music Company. She sang the title and other songs for serial “Ashiana. Another album “Pritam Pardesi” a romantic album composed by the top music director of Film Industry, Dilip Sen and Sameer Sen. Some melodious duets are sung with by top playback singers, Mohemmed Aziz, Kumar Sanu, Udit Narayan, Abhijeet, Shaan & Sandeep Shikhar. Another Album “Krishna Krishna Jap Lo Naam” sang with famous Suresh Wadekarji, released by T-Series.

Alkaji has sung melodious songs ‘O Sanam’ & ‘Yaar Mera’ with Rashid in Album “Roobroo” & “Jyada Aaaye Yaad Tum” sung for film “Confusion”. “Rafta Rafta Dil Ki Zameen” released by Music Company “Unity International Films & Music” “Dil Se Dil Tak”. She is Creative Director and main singer of newly launched music company “Unity International Films & Music”. Alka Bhatnagar has sung songs of movies “Confusion”, “Black Cat” and “Dile Nada”.

She has been conferred by a very prestigious U.P. “Ratna Award” in India for her excellent contributions in popularizing Indian Music globally & assigned as Cultural Ambassador of U.P. in USA.
